CYTOPLASM

DEFINITION

CYTOPLASM IS THE SEMI-VISCOUS AND SEMI TRANSPARENT SUBSTANCE

    BETWEEN PLASMA MEMBRANE AND NUCLEAR MEMBRANE.

cytoplasm definition

DIVISION OF LIVING CONTENT

THE LIVING CONTENTS OF THE EUKARYOTIC CELL ARE DIVIDED INTO NUCLEUS

AND THE CYTOPLASM THE TWO COLLECTIVELY FORM PROTOPLASM .

CONSIST OF;

CYTOPLASM CONSISTS OF AN AQUEOUS GROUND SUBSTANCE CONTAINING A

 VARIETY OF CELL ORGANELLES AND OTHER INCLUSIONS SUCH AS INSOLUBLE

 WASTES AND STORAGE PRODUCTS.

CYTOSOL;

THE SOLUBLE PART OF THE CYTOPLASM IS CALLED CYTOSOL.

IT FORMS THE GROUND SUBSTANCE OF THE CYTOPLASM.

CHEMICALLY;

CHEMICALLY IT IS ABOUT 90% WATER.

TRUE SOLUTION;

IN THE CYTOSOL, SMALL MOLECULES AND IONS MAY FORM TRUE SOLUTION,

COLLOIDAL SOLUTION;

AND SOME LARGE MOLECULES FORM COLLOIDAL SOLUTION. COLLOIDAL

SOLUTION MAY BE  SOL (NON-VISCOUS) OR A GEL (VISCOUS)

PERIPHERAL PART;

PERIPHERAL PARTS OF THE CELL ARE OFTEN  LIKE GEL.

FUNCTION;

THE MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTION OF THE CYTOPLASM IS TO ACT AS A

 STOREHOUSE  OF VITAL CHEMICALS.

 IT IS ALSO A SITE FOR CERTAIN METABOLIC PROCESSES SUCH AS GLYCOLYSIS.

IN LIVING CELLS;

IN LIVING CELLS THE CYTOPLASM CONTAINS SEVERAL CELL ORGANELLES

 SUCH AS;

 ✦ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM,

  ✦MITOCHONDRIA,

 ✦GOLGI COMPLEX,

  ✦NUCLEUS,

 ✦PLASTIDS,

  ✦RIBOSOMES,

  ✦LYSOSOMES AND CENTRIOLE.

FREE FLOATING CELL ORGANELLE;

THE FREE FLOATING CELL ORGANELLES LIKE MITOCHONDRIA MOVE ABOUT

IN CYTOPLASM DUE TO CYTOPLASMIC STREAMING MOVEMENTS. THIS IS AN

ACTIVE MASS MOVEMENT OF CYTOPLASM.

Define Heartbeat ?

HEARTBEAT ➤ The alternating  relaxations and contractions make up the cardiac cycle and one   complete  cardiac cycle makes one heartbeat.and in other words, one complete pulsation  of the heart  is called heartbeat. It is the complete regular movement movement of our  heart as it passes  blood around your body. STEPS OF CARDIAC CYCLE ➤ C omplete cardiac cycle consist of the following steps .   CARDIAC DIASTOLE ➤ Atria and ventricles relax and blood is filled in atria. this period is called cardiac   diastole.  In short, it is the period of relaxation of heart muscles.In one complete heartbeat,   diastole  lasts about 0.4 seconds. ATRIAL SYSTOLE ➤ It is the last phase in diastole during which the ventricular filling is  competed.    Immediately  after their  filling, both atria contracts and pump blood towards ventricles.   This period in  cardiac cycle is called  atrial systole.In o...
